Biography
Hossein Fani (حسين فاني), he/him, is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto. He has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science, University of Windsor, and the team lead in NSERC Industrial Research Chair on Social Media Analytics as a Postdoc at LS3, Toronto Metropolitan University. He works in the broad area of Social Information Retrieval (Social IR) with special focus on temporal analysis including team recommendation, web query refinement, and social review analysis. Hossein publishes in SIGIR, WSDM, CIKM and ECIR and premier journals, including Elsevier’s IP&M, ACM's TOIS and CSUR, and Wiley's JASIST. He has been granted three patents by the USPTO for his research including US10,885,131, US11,768,522, and US12,067,625. He is also a PC member at WWW, WSDM, KDD, ACL, NAACL, SIGIR, CIKM, and ECIR.
